StoryCorps Comes to NOLA

WWNO/KTLN Radio (89.9FM/90.5FM) Home Page: "StoryCorps, the oral-history project of Sound Portraits and created in partnership with National Public Radio and the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress, will bring its StoryBooth – a mobile recording booth – to New Orleans May 4-28, 2006. Guided by the belief that the stories of everyday people are the most important and interesting stories of all, StoryCorps involves inviting people to sign up to record 40-minute interviews with their loved ones. CD copies of the interview are then shared with the interviewees and, by permission, added to the StoryCorps Archives in the Library of Congress. Learn more about this exciting project and listen to other interviews at www.storycorps.net."

Re-Open for Business

I have been unable to post more podcasts for several weeks due to blogger mistakenly blacklisting this site as a Spam Blog. Tonight I finally received the following via email:

"Your blog has been reviewed, verified, and whitelisted so that it will no
longer appear as potential spam. If you sign out of Blogger and sign back
in again, you should be able to post as normal. Thanks for your patience,
and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Sincerely,
Blogger Support"

Podcasts will be resuming immediately! I also have a number of statements and interviews taken via palm pilot while this service was down. I hope to arrange for hosting for these .wav files in the near future and share them with you. Among other things they include a statement from Warren Riley about the 2006 Mardi Gras recorded at the start of the parade route the first weekend of Carnival.

as always we are looking for more stories and views to record and share, if you are interested or know of someone who is please coantact me directly at george.williams.iv (at) gmail.com

Revive, Rebuild, Renew, Record!!
